Tips for attracting birds.  Below are mesh cloth socks with drawstrings at the top. Some people prefer feeding in these socks and believe the seed aroma is more able to disperse in the wind luring in the birds. They are inexpensive and only Goldfinches are easily able to cling to the socks.  To help filling, you might make a funnel by cutting off top of a plastic soda bottle.
